Wasser 3.0
Clean water making microplastics popcorn
Non for profit German company Wasser 3.0 has developed a process that traps microplastic pollution in a vortex using a hybrid silica gel before it reaches the ocean. The resulting compound, called Wasser 3.0 PE-X, creates a popcorn-like clump of plastic. The lumps rise to the surface and can be collected with a sieve.
The organisation focuses on flexible, cost-effective and energy-efficient solutions for the removal of microplastics and micropollutants from water.
