Icewinds produces robust vertical axis wind turbines, designed to withstand all weather conditions and to be installed in the most remote locations. Their robust impeller design start with winds as low as 2 m/s, and can withstand winds of 60 m/s, while allowing for little or no maintenance over a 20-year lifespan.
Icewinds markets 2 turbine models: the Freya, for individual use, which allows energy independence, and a more powerful turbine designed to be mounted on commercial towers. The latter reduces operating costs through longevity and reliable backup power as well as reduced maintenance and downtime.
