Ubiquitous Energy
Capturing solar energy through the windows
Ubiquitous Energy is the world leader in transparent solar technology. Their UE Power technology produces renewable energy through transparent surfaces that resemble traditional windows, which do not disturb the aesthetics of the building, but give it greater energy efficiency. Founded by MIT scientists, Ubiquitous Energy now produces its solar cells in a production plant in Silicon Valley. Each of the windows enabled by UE Power can offset up to 200 watt hours of electricity per day. This is equivalent to charging a smart phone 13 times a day.
This figure is based on an average window of 3 feet by 5 feet.
